New Councillor, Laurence Norman is Co-opted

Axminster Town Council is pleased to announce the co-option of Laurence Norman to the Council at its Full Council meeting held on Monday the 13th January 2026.
Laurence is a local businessman who owns the West Country Higgler Café and so is known to many and is firmly embedded within the Axminster community.
Laurence’s appointment brings the Council back up to its full complement of councillors. This will be increasingly important in the coming months as we begin to understand what Local Government Reorganisation will mean for Axminster Town Council, and for the town as a whole.
We look forward to working with Laurence and welcome him to the Council.
