The Jubilee Fountain

The Town Council funded and organised the work to sensitively clean and refurbish the Jubilee Fountain in Trinity Square, ahead of HM The Queen's platinum jubilee next February.  The Council would like to thank those responsible for carrying out the work - Andy Brooker and his son Alfie - who are extremely experienced in cleaning listed monuments, using a gentle steam cleaning method without any harsh chemicals. 

Brookers also carried out the work on the war memorial earlier this year, at the Town Council's request.

As you can see below from the 'before' and 'after' pictures, the transformation in the beautiful carving work is evident:

The lights will remain off until the Council has explored renewable energy sourced options for refurbishing them.
