Each year Axminster Town Council select an Axminster ‘Citizen of the Year’ from nominations made by you. Nominations for the 2024 award are now open!
The ‘Citizen of the Year’ award was launched in 2018 in memory of the late Robin Cross, a long-serving Special Police Constable committed to assisting those in need wherever possible.

Last year it was awarded to Mary Darlow for her work with Nourish, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to ensuring those in need have access to good nutritional food, as well as for her previous voluntary work for Axminster Guildhall, Axminster Care Service and Devon Air Ambulance.
Do you know a community hero like Mary and Robin, who deserves to be recognised as the Axminster 'Citizen of the Year 2024'?
The council will review the ‘Citizen of the Year’ nominations, and the trophy will be awarded at the Council’s first meeting in 2023.
