Councillor Resignation

Published: 26 August 2021

Councillor Simon Sleigh has decided to relinquish his role as Councillor representing of Raymond's Hill Ward.  The Council would like to thanks him for his loyal service to the community of Axminster during his tenure.

This leaves two vacancies within the Raymond's Hill ward, and the Council would like to hear from anyone who would be interested in becoming a Councillor and representing this ward and the other wards with vacancies within the town.  Being a Councillor is a fulfilling role and one which enables you to get involved in the grass roots issues of the community in which you live and work, and help shape the town for future generations.  If you are interested, and would like to know more, please contact the Town Clerk, Hilary Kirkcaldie, in the first instance to discuss what is involved and how you can apply.  You can contact her on the number at the top of this page, or via email at  We also have some general information on our Elections & Casual Vacancies page.
